Belly binding is an important part of the healing process after giving birth. In cultural traditions around the world, special attention is given to the mother and her healing body after birth.
Binding the belly helps to:
Close the hips after birth
Gently speed recovery time
Help slowly move vital organs back into place
Remove excess air and fluids and
Repair of diastasis recti (separated abdominal muscles).
Provide lower back and abdominal support
We provide and teach our clients the African belly binding method. Where we use traditional african cotton to bind the hips, waist and abdomen. It is most effective when used in conjunction with healing foods and in the first 40 days following childbirth.
